[Note for anyone stumbling in: There's a function in Horizon Zero Dawn that acts as Aloy recapping The Story So Far, kind of, where she visits her adoptive father's grave and tells him what's been going on. Maybe I'll be able to keep up using that as a thread tracker!]

Now, we're... Remember the complex I mentioned? There were two planets and a complex in space. We're in the complex. The station. But we got here and no one recognised it,
it's like a ruin. The clocks - the timekeepers - we found all say it's three hundred years after.
I don't know why I'm shocked - I'm on new planets in the future, why not--why not even further.

You wouldn't like Thisavrou. It's as if the Old Ones never vanished at all, but kept developing their knowledge and got more and more advanced. Maybe this is what Earth would look like if Ted Faro never existed, or if... Well, everything is technology. Everything. I can be inside, wondering if I should dress for the cold or not, and I wouldn't even have to look out the window. They have technology to tell you. People can talk to each other without ever saying a single word. People here, they can't hunt, they can't make their own clothes. They don't need to.
It's everything the Matriarchs warn us about, except it's not falling apart. At least, it doesn't look like it is.
There are a lot of newcomers here - people from every kind of world imaginable. I met someone called Raeka, from a whole different species. They look like... I don't know, I can't describe her...or--or him. But they were a scout looking for somewhere else to live for their people, for a big group of different aliens wanting to make a new life. It made me think of the people who left the Nora, actually - the ones who became the Carja and Oseram and the others. Except instead of different people coming together, it was the same group splitting apart. Maybe it's written down somewhere - what happened.
Uh, what else... I met a lot of people with this little device they gave us, actually. Someone wanted to know about looking different, a couple of people asked about each other's worlds and stories from our worlds...
Someone mentioned "shadow demons".
They gave me quarters to stay in for a while, but I'm not spending much time in them. Kauto, one of the planets - there are two planets, and a...a complex? Anyway, there's a lot to see in Kauto - I just like sleeping outdoors and taking it all in. I did nearly shoot somebody by the river, though. She came up behind me, it happened pretty fast.
There are machines here, too. I mean, intelligent machines. Not like the ones we know, and not like HADES. Not even like Gaia. I spoke to one. He was injured - I'm not sure I helped with his injury, but...maybe I helped a little somehow.
The Savrii brought us together and told us that we need to pull our weight more. Apparently the groups of people who've been coming through the Ingress recently have been doing damage, causing trouble. I honestly didn't know how I was being put together with everyone, but a man I met, Kaz, he told me that a big group of them were on a ship together that got brought to Thisavrou. Everyone who's arrived since is just...part of that group, even though we don't have anything in common. Apart from that we don't belong here.
Anyway, it was a trap. They told us we were doing work for them and then sent us to some dead land. It's where that ship crashed and the Savrii picked up the crew. They dumped us, and I don't know if they were leaving us to die, or just trying to scare us. But there we were. Some people with even better computers than my Focus found a strange signal, so we followed that. I tried to help - hunting, fighting off the aliens that attacked us... I did what I could. And there are still a lot of people here I haven't met - there's probably as many people as in the whole Nora tribe.
Actually, one man had his own pet machine. It's tiny, but it's completely friendly - to people, anyway. I met another alien - a woman named Vetra, a turian. Turians don't eat the same food we do, but I didn't really find out what that means. It could mean she eats fish for all I know, and we were nowhere near any rivers. There was another woman I met too, I met her on the ship I told you about, where the signal was coming from. She was...mourning for the Programs.
It's like, if a computer is a tribe, each program is a tribe member. Most people just see the tribe and not the members. That's how I understood it, anyway.
I'd better go. There's still a lot to do - we have to get out of here somehow or we'll melt in these storms.

I don't think most of us even did anything. I wonder if they're just trying to scare everyone into keeping each other in line. A lot of people here seem like that's just going to make them angrier.
I've tried to escape the island already - I hit some kind of barrier before I could get too far. So I went exploring - I ended up in the tunnels underground. There wasn't much there, but there was this room filled with eggs -
the Savrii must have left them behind when they were abandoning the island. One of them hatched right in my hand.
She's sort of...a flightless, beakless bird. Actually, at first she looked like a Watcher, but she's already bigger than I am. I thought I'd just take care of her until I found someone who knew what she was, but I think right now, we're stuck with each other. I don't know how much she'll keep growing, but she looks more like a Thunderjaw now. I was calling her that, but it turned into just, uh... Teej.
To be honest, I don't understand what even happened after that. We escaped, but then...
The tribe who live here, the Savrii, some of the newcomers got into a fight with them,
and... I don't know. It's all a bit of a blur.
I never saw Teej again after that. I hope she was OK. But uh, now...
